Our Signature Ultra Extra Virgin Olive Oil – PGI Lakonia

Discover the essence of Lakonia in our signature extra virgin olive oil, a certified organic treasure crafted with care and tradition. This oil proudly carries the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Lakonia, honouring its unique origin in the sun-drenched, hilly groves of Southern Greece.

Hand-harvested while green, our olives come from two exceptional Greek varieties: the renowned Koroneiki and the ancient Athinolia, a heritage cultivar celebrated for its complexity and elegance. Within hours of harvest, the olives are gently cold-extracted to preserve their vibrant aromas, nutritional integrity, and natural freshness.

With an ultra-low acidity of just 0.19%, this olive oil qualifies as Ultra Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a testament to its outstanding quality. Rich in polyphenols and the powerful anti-inflammatory compound oleocanthal, it carries a health claim, supporting heart health and overall well-being.

Each bottle is single origin and bottled at the source, ensuring full traceability and the freshest possible experience. The result is a finely balanced oil, with notes of fresh-cut grass, green leaves, and wild artichoke — a true reflection of the Lakonian terroir.

Elevate your everyday meals with a product of nature, heritage, and craftsmanship.

  • The levels of oleocanthal are higher than the average values (135 mg/Kg) of the sample included in the international study performed at the University of California, Davis.

The daily consumption of 20 g of the analysed olive oil provides 12,28mg of hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol or their derivatives.

Olive oils that contain >5 mg per 20 gr belong to the category of oils that protect the blood lipids from oxidative stress according to the Regulation 432/2012 of the European Union.

It should be noted that oleocanthal and oleacein present important biological activity and they have been related with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective and neuroprotective activity.

The chemical analysis was performed at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens according to the method that has been submitted to EFET and published in J. Agric. Food Chem. 2012, 60, 11696, J. Agric. Food Chem. 2014, 62, 600 & Molecules 2020, 25, 2449.
